A gale force front enters the western Gulf this afternoon and quickly begins to move across Kodiak Island later this evening. Accompanying the front will be an axis of moderate rainfall, adding up to around one inch of rainfall for Kodiak City, with areas such as Old Harbor seeing up to 2 inches of rainfall. Southeast winds are expected to gust as high as 55 mph during the frontal passage. The front clears the area and moves northeastward by midday Friday.
