  • WHERE: Beaches along Lake Michigan in Door, Kewaunee and Manitowoc Counties.

  • IMPACTS: Dangerous swimming conditions are expected. Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Several beaches that will be most susceptible to the dangerous swimming conditions include, Rock Island State Beach, Baileys Harbor beaches and Whitefish Dunes Beach in Door County. Cresent Beach and City of Kewaunee Beach in Kewaunee County. Point Beach, Neshotah Beach and Red Arrow Beach in Manitowoc County.

  • WHAT: Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 107 expected inland, away from Lake Michigan. Overnight heat indices will remain around 75 degrees, which will still be hazardous for anyone without shelter after the extreme heat in the afternoon.

  • WHERE: Manitowoc, Door, and Kewaunee Counties. Primarily in western Manitowoc and Kewaunee counties and southern Door County.

  • WHEN: Until 7 PM CDT Tuesday.

  • IMPACTS: Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events.

WHEN,From 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions:

Sensitive groups: Make outdoor activities shorter and less intense. Take more breaks. Watch for symptoms such as coughing or shortness of breath. Plan outdoor activities in the morning when ozone is lower.

People with asthma: Follow your asthma action plan and keep quick-relief medicine handy.
