THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 680 IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN NEW MEXICO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 11 COUNTIES IN CENTRAL NEW MEXICO LINCOLN TORRANCE IN EAST CENTRAL NEW MEXICO CURRY DE BACA GUADALUPE QUAY ROOSEVELT IN NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO HARDING MORA SAN MIGUEL IN SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO CHAVES THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ALTO, BITTER LAKE WILDLIFE REFUGE, BONITO LAKE, CHICOSA LAKE STATE PARK, CLINES CORNERS, CLOVIS, CONCHAS, ESTANCIA, FORT SUMNER, GRAN QUIVIRA, LAS VEGAS, LOGAN, MCINTOSH, MIDWAY, MILLS, MORA, MORIARTY, MOUNTAINAIR, PORTALES, ROSEBUD, ROSWELL, ROY, RUIDOSO, SANTA ROSA, TUCUMCARI, WAGON MOUND, YATES, AND YESO.

WHAT: Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

WHERE: A portion of northeast New Mexico, including the following county, southwestern San Miguel.

IMPACTS: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- At 343 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms with heavy rain moving northeast across Interstate 25 between Ribera and Romeroville. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen over parts of the area.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include, Tecolote, Villanueva, Villanueva State Park, Romeroville, Ribera, Chapelle, Sena, Ojitos Frios, San Agustin and San Jose.
