Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, very heavy rain and showers and southeasterly winds are expected during Saturday and Sunday. Areas likely to be affected include the Central forecast district and parts of the Wimmera, North Central, South West, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING is forecast during the remainder of Saturday and early Sunday. Six-hourly rainfall totals between 25 and 40 mm are likely, with isolated falls up to 60 mm possible. 24-hour rainfall totals: For the Otways between 60 and 90 mm are likely, with isolated falls up to 150 mm possible about elevated parts. For Gippsland between 40 and 60 mm are likely, with isolated falls up to 110 mm possible about elevated parts. Conditions are expected to ease on Saturday afternoon over the Otway ranges, then during Sunday morning in Gippsland as the low pressure system slowly tracks east then moves into the Tasman Sea on Sunday. Locations which may be affected include Traralgon, Bairnsdale, Sale, Warragul, Mt Baw Baw and Morwell.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * If driving conditions are dangerous, safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater. Avoid travel if possible. * Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees. * Be aware - heat, fire or recent storms may make trees unstable and more likely to fall when it's windy or wet. * Check that loose items, such as outdoor settings, umbrellas and trampolines are safely secured. Move vehicles under cover or away from trees. * Stay indoors and away from windows. * If outdoors, move to a safe place indoors. Stay away from trees, drains, gutters, creeks and waterways. * Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live. * Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks. Heavy rainfall may also increase the potential for landslides and debris across roads. * Stay informed: Monitor weather warnings, forecasts and river levels at the Bureau of Meteorology website, and warnings through VicEmergency website/app/hotline.
