FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING
- WHAT: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.
- WHERE: A portion of Southwest California, including the following areas, San Diego County Coastal Areas, San Diego County Mountains and San Diego County Valleys.
- WHEN: Through Wednesday evening.
- IMPACTS: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
- ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- A rapidly intensifying low pressure system off the California coast with moisture from an atmospheric river is expected to bring widespread moderate to locally heavy rainfall this morning. A band of more widespread showers is expected to move through the area during the late afternoon and evening. Showers will then continue at times through Wednesday. There is also a slight chance of thunderstorms for tonight and Wednesday morning.

- IMPACTS: Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion.

- WHAT: Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph expected. Isolated gusts to 60 mph.
- WHERE: San Diego County Coastal Areas, Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, Orange County Coastal Areas and Orange County Inland Areas.
- WHEN: From 6 AM this morning to midnight PDT tonight.
- IMPACTS: Strong winds could damage trees and other objects. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
- ADDITIONAL DETAILS: South winds will turn southwest and weaken temporarily after frontal passage late morning, then increase from the southwest once again in the evening but not quite as strong as the morning winds.
