Elevated areas and areas closer to the northeast coast will see maximum temperatures in the high twenties to high thirties with overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to mid twenties. Severe heatwave conditions will persist and intensify into the weekend and early next week. Locations likely to be impacted include Aurukun, Croydon, Kowanyama and Weipa.

Stay inside until the storm has passed.
