As a coastal system moves across Western Alaska Sunday into Monday, it will bring widespread rain and southerly winds across the area. Rain totals from Sunday afternoon through early Tuesday morning are expected range from 1 to 2 inches across most of the Western Interior. River levels will rise with this rainfall, although no flooding is expected. From Sunday afternoon through Tuesday night, southerly winds could gust as high as 40 mph in the Lower Yukon and Upper Kuskokwim Valleys, with gusts over 30 mph possible elsewhere.
