RED FLAG WARNING FOR STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY SATURDAY FOR MUCH OF THE INLAND NORTHWEST

  • Affected Area: Northern and Central Idaho Panhandle (Zone 101), Foothills of Northeast Washington (Zone 701), Eastern Columbia Basin -Palouse -Spokane Area (Zone 708) and Lower Palouse -Snake River (Zone 709).
  • Winds: West/Southwest winds 10 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Highest wind speeds on the West Plains, Eastern Columbia Basin, and foothills of the Blue Mountains.

  • Relative Humidities: 14 to 26 percent.

  • Impacts: Gusty winds and low humidity Saturday may lead to rapid fire spread with any new or ongoing fires.
