  • WHAT: Kwigillingok, Kongiganak, and Kipnuk: Water levels as high as 1.0 to 2.5 feet above the normal highest tide line. Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 40 to 45 mph before winds transition to west Tuesday morning, diminishing impacts.

Toksook Bay and Tununak: West winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts to 45 to 50 mph beginning Tuesday morning. Water levels as high as 0.5 to 1.5 feet above the normal highest tide line.

  • WHERE: Kuskokwim Delta Coast, including Kwigillingok, Kongiganak, Kipnuk, Toksook Bay, and Tununak.

  • WHEN: From 1 PM Monday to 10 PM Tuesday.

  • IMPACTS: There is potential for coastal erosion due to high surf. The coastal flood threat is low to medium for Kwigillingok, Kongiganak, and Kipnuk (30 to 40 percent). The coastal flood threat is low (10 to 20 percent) for Toksook Bay and Tununak.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS: A developing low pressure system will drive a fetch of strong southwest winds towards the Kuskokwim Delta Coast early Monday afternoon, which will result in increased wave activity. Large breaking waves of 3 to 5 feet for the Kuskokwim Delta coast will continue into Tuesday morning, which will also coincide with high tide, enhancing coastal impacts. Southwest winds shut off later Tuesday morning for the Kuskokwim Delta Coast and attention then shifts to Toksook Bay and Tununak as west winds take over and the low moves inland. Strong west winds will bring in higher seas of 1 to 3 feet for Toksook Bay and Tununak. Conditions are on track to improve as the low moves farther inland Tuesday night. Additionally, periods of moderate to heavy rainfall will precede the advisory duration.
