Outflow has returned to the Panhandle. Northerly winds near gale force are currently blowing through Lynn Canal, Stephens Passage, Chatham Strait, and out of Taku Inlet. Peak wind speeds of moderate gale force are likely sometime Monday evening into Tuesday morning. The strongest winds are expected in Lynn Canal and northern Stephens Passage. Outflow conditions of varying intensity will continue through Tuesday night before diminishing Wednesday. Freezing spray is expected to be widespread across the northern inner channels, continuing into Tuesday night as very cold temperatures move down the Panhandle. Heavy freezing spray is likely in Lynn Canal and Taku Inlet, with moderate to light freezing spray moving down Chatham and Stephens passage. Continue to monitor NOAA Weather Radio for updates as we monitor the progression of this system through the next 24 hours.
