- Tropical moisture continues to overspread the area tonight through Sunday with showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall at times. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected with the highest totals likely in the Cape Fear area. A few areas could receive up to 6 inches in thunderstorms, mainly tonight. This excessive rainfall could lead to flooding, especially in flood prone and low-lying areas.
