The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 2:30 am, severe thunderstorms likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding were detected near Boonah, the area south of Cunninghams Gap and the NSW border. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east to southeast. They are forecast to affect Beaudesert, the area between Boonah and Beaudesert, Mount Barney, Laravale and Kooralbyn by 3:00 am and Border Ranges National Park, the McPherson Range, Springbrook, Numinbah Valley, Little Nerang Dam and Canungra by 3:30 am.
