- Showers and thunderstorms will increase today into tonight, with the most widespread activity occurring this afternoon and this evening. Some heavy showers and thunderstorms will produce torrential rainfall, with 2 to 3 inches of rain per hour possible. The excessive rainfall within a short period of time, especially in urban areas, could lead to flash flooding.
