Special Weather Statement issued July 4 at 6:42PM ChST by NWS Tiyan GU
Aviso meteorológico moderado
Agora
De Sábado 18:42 (há 9 horas)
Até Hoje 18:45 (em 14 horas)
Explicações oficiais do aviso:

Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) is currently located about 400 miles to the north-northeast of Chuuk near 12.5N 150.8E and is moving west- southwest at 8 mph. Maximum sustained winds are 160 mph. Chuuk is currently located within strengthening west-southwest inflow on the far southern periphery of STY Bavi, and will remain within its peripheral influence in the next few days as the storm strengthens and continues moving toward the Marianas. Chuuk is expected to remain outside of the direct wind field of Bavi, but surging west to southwest winds around 20 to 25 knots are expected to continue building across the region south of the storm. Models suggest west to southwest winds will peak sometime Saturday or Sunday, maintaining seas hazardous to small craft, and a Small Craft Advisory remains in effect for Chuuk through at least Tuesday morning. Inter-island travel will be hazardous and should be avoided. Additionally, west to southwest swell looks to build as STY Bavi develops and moves away, which will lead to elevated. Hazardous surf of 8 to 10 feet has forced an issuance of a High Surf Advisory through at least Tuesday morning. At the same time, chances for locally heavy showers will increase through early next week as the strong west to southwest flow across the region funnels deep moisture into the trailing convergence behind STY Bavi. Near-gale to gale- force gusts are expected, especially near heavier showers. For more information on Super Typhoon Bavi, please refer to the Tropical Cyclone Public Advisory issued by the National Weather Service under WMO header WTPQ31 PGUM and the Tropical Cyclone Warning issued by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center under WMO header WTPN31 PGTW.
