  • WHAT: Small stream flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues. Between 0.5 and 1 inch inches of rain have fallen within the last 24 hours.

  • WHERE: A portion of North Idaho, including the following counties, Benewah, Bonner, Kootenai and Shoshone.

  • WHEN: Until 430 PM PST.

  • IMPACTS: River or stream flows are elevated. Small streams will continue to rise rapidly through at least Thursday morning.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

    • At 1150 AM PST, Rain and snowmelt is occurring, and will cause minor flooding. This will cause small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch has fallen within the last 24 hours, and 1 to 4 inches has fallen in total.
    • Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area through Friday night. This additional rain will result in further minor flooding impacts.
    • Some locations that will experience flooding include, St. Maries, Kellogg, Pinehurst, Osburn, Wallace, Mullan, Smelterville, Clark Fork, East Hope, Wardner, Lookout Pass, Hope, Silver Mountain, Prichard, Murray, Kingston, Huckleberry Campground, Calder, Cataldo and Avery.

  • IMPACTS: Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

    • At 203 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Flooding has already been observed along Lightning Creek and Spring Creek. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen over the last 24 hours.
    • Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area through noon tomorrow.
    • Some locations that will experience flooding include, Clark Fork. Lightning Creek, Spring Creek.
