FLOODING POSSIBLE OVER THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEKEND AND NEXT FEW DAYS A broad trough system will contract northward early this week and linger for several days, maintaining deep tropical moisture across northern Queensland and enhancing enhance shower and storm activity over multiple days. Catchments are becoming wet after rainfall over the last few days, with river level rises and areas of flooding possible across the Flood Watch area over the remainder of the weekend and the next few days. Rapid river level rises are possible in areas that receive the heaviest rainfall. There remains significant uncertainty in the location and timing of the heaviest falls. The situation will be monitored closely and Flood Warnings will be issued as required.
