- Stronger west to southwest winds will develop this afternoon with deep atmospheric mixing and an extremely dry airmass in place. The main threat areas for the spread of fire will be west of the Continental Divide, the Upper Rio Grande Valley and the Northeast Highlands where winds will be strongest.

AREA AND TIMING: Northwest Plateau (Zone 101), West Central Mountains (Zone 105) and the West Central Basin and Range (Zone 109).

20 FOOT WINDS: West to southwest at 20 to 25 mph with occasional gusts up to 35 mph by late afternoon.
