- Snow will continue spreading eastward over western and southern MN overnight into eastern MN and western WI later this morning. Snow will then continue throughout the day Saturday, with moderate intensity at times, then gradually diminishing from west to east this evening through early morning Sunday.
Several inches of accumulation, including over 6 inches of total accumulation near and south of a line from Redwood Falls to Le Sueur to Cannon Falls MN, will likely lead to travel impacts through Saturday night. The heaviest snow will fall around Interstate 90 corridor in southern Minnesota, with upwards of 10 inches of total accumulation through Saturday night possible. Lighter amounts are expected from west central Minnesota through the Twin Cities metro through Bloomer WI and points northward of that line.
Overall, travelers should use extra caution and allow for extra travel time, including the possibility of moderate prolonged snowfall at times, which may lead to hazardous travel conditions.
