- A weather pattern conducive for large fire growth will continue through Wednesday as a broad trough remains over the western United States keeping the flow over New Mexico dry and windy. The strongest winds are forecast over northern areas and the central mountains and highlands Tuesday, then along and east of the central mountain chain again Wednesday. Most lower elevation locations east of the continental divide will experience between 5 and 10 hours of single digit relative humidity values on Tuesday.
