Severe heatwave conditions are expected to affect Queensland from Tuesday 25 November 2025 to Friday 28 November 2025
Maximum temperatures in the low forties over western and central areas with overnight minimum temperatures in the mid twenties. In the east maximum temperatures in the low to mid thirties with overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to mid twenties. Severe heatwave conditions are expected to contract from western parts of the State over the coming days, and ease over the weekend in the east. Locations likely to be impacted include Brisbane Metropolitan Area, Birdsville, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Gympie, Ipswich, Longreach, Mackay, Roma and Winton.
Minor flooding is possible along the Dawson River at Baralaba. No observations are currently available for the Dawson River at Baralaba, however based on the nearby automatic gauge the river level is estimated to be below the minor flood level (4.00 m) and falling slowly. Renewed river level rises and minor flooding (4.00 m) are possible along the Dawson River at Baralaba from Thursday afternoon as upstream peaks arrive and in combination with forecast rainfall.
