A flood alert has been issued. Groundwater levels in the Candover area are high but slowly falling. At Preston Candover, the level is 14cm lower than this time last week. At Old Alresford the level is 20cm lower. Cellar flooding is expected to be affecting properties in the Candovers, Northington, and Old Alresford. In Old Alresford, internal ground floor flooding is affecting isolated properties. Septic tanks will be struggling to operate effectively in all locations. From today (09/05/2024) to Saturday (11/05/2024), the weather is expected to be dry. A little rainfall, approximately 5mm, is expected on both Sunday (12/05/2024) and on Monday (13/05/2024). We expect groundwater levels to continue to slowly fall over the next week. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. If you have pumps to help reduce water levels, please ensure that they are operating. This Flood Alert will be updated by 18:00 on Thursday (16/05/2024).

A flood alert has been issued. Groundwater levels in Deane and Ashe are high but continue to slowly fall. During the last week, 14mm of rain has been recorded at Overton. The level at our borehole in Oakley has fallen by 32cm during that time. Cellar flooding is expected to be ongoing in Deane. Groundwater spring flows continue to affect land, and septic tanks will be struggling to operate effectively. From today 14/05/2024 to Saturday 18/05/2024, periods of rain and showers are expected to affect Hampshire with between 10 and 50mm of rain possible during this time. Groundwater levels are expected to continue falling. Groundwater flooding impacts in Deane and Ashe are expected to continue for at least 10 days. If heavy rain affects the area, flooding impacts are likely to be prolonged. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast.
