Severe Winds The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction. Minor to moderate impacts from gale-force winds are possible within any of the localities where Wind Signal No. 2 is hoisted. Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1. Up to high seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 5.5 m: The eastern seaboards of mainland Cagayan; the seaboard of Isabela. Up to 4.5 m: The seaboards of Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, and Zambales; the western seaboards of Bataan and Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Islands; the remaining seaboards of Cagayan including Babuyan Islands. Sea travel is risky all types or tonnage of vessels. All mariners must remain in port or, if underway, seek shelter or safe harbor as soon as possible until winds and waves subside. Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters: Up to 3.5 m: The northeastern seaboard of Aurora; the western seaboards of Palawan including Calamian Islands, Cavite, and Batangas; the remaining seaboard of Occidental Mindoro. Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced or operating ill-equipped vessels. TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK On the track forecast, EMON will pass close or over Babuyan Islands and Batanes from this afternoon to early evening while accelerating north northeastward. It is also forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility tomorrow (26 July) morning. EMONG will continue to weaken throughout the forecast period due to increasing unfavorable environment. It will likely degenerate into a remnant low tomorrow evening while entering the East China Sea. However, a slightly faster weakening trend is not ruled out.
