Risk of zero visibilities on roads
What: Possibility of heavy flurries with moderate to strong winds and blowing snow giving zero visibility.
When: Overnight tonight until Saturday at noon.
Where: Matagami, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve, Parent and Chibougamau.
Additional information: A vigorous cold front will track across the province beginning overnight tonight into Saturday. As this front passes, snow squalls may develop and suddenly reduce visibilities to zero. Temperatures will also drop quickly as it passes. Roads and sidewalks could quickly become icy and slippery.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced to near zero at times.
Snow squall watches are issued when localized, intense snowfall causing rapid accumulation and/or reduced visibility is possible.
