A flood alert has been issued. River levels are rising on the Lower Dorset Frome due to the recent heavy rainfall. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Lower Dorset Frome, with low lying land expected to be most affected, particularly around tributaries between Dorchester and Wareham. Flooding is possible. The forecast remains unsettled, with further showers expected today. We will continue to monitor the forecast and incident response teams are checking rivers for blockages in the area. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. This message will be updated by 5:00 PM on 15/05/2024, or as the situation changes.
