Earlier this year we have informed you about the fact that our Dynamic Weather Maps left the beta stage and became our primary map product, replacing the previous Static Weather Maps (see the post here).
For the time being, we are keeping both of the map interfaces live. One of the reasons is that many of our users are accustomed to using the Static Weather Maps (now called Weather Maps - legacy), and are reluctant to upgrade. We also frequently receive enquiries regarding these two products, their functionalities, similarities and differences.
Therefore we have decided to summarise the additional functionalities of the new Dynamic Weather Maps, and the benefits it offers you. The main are listed below:
- worldwide gapless availability - there are no blind spots in the maps, the coverage is 100% global and seamless;
- complete flexibility in the selection of centering, sections and heights of the display;
- selection of significantly more weather variables and more aggregations (hourly, daily);
- selection of multiple weather models;
- insertion of 2-3 layers (pressure, wind animation, background) into one map;
- customisable setting of units and languages;
- easy saving of maps using the "screenshot" function;
- URL configuration that allows easy bookmarking (creating bookmarks in the browser) of all settings;
- selection and display of location predictions directly on the map;
- direct forwarding of location forecast to respective location-specific diagrams;
- seamless adaptation to different screen sizes, from 50-inch HR screens to small smartphone displays;
- and other functions and features.
If you have not tried the new Dynamic Weather Maps, why not do it now?
As always, you are invited to leave your feedback here.
