  • A weather pattern conducive for large fire growth will develop Sunday through Wednesday as a broad trough develops over the western United States keeping the flow over New Mexico dry and windy. The strongest winds and critically low humidities Sunday will favor the central mountain chain and northeast highlands westward. Then, humidities will plummet over eastern areas as well on Monday. Winds will strengthen over central and eastern areas late Monday morning, but not until mid afternoon farther west.
