Meteorological World Expo 2022

After two years of working at home, we had the chance again to present our team and products at the Meteorological Technology World Expo in Paris, France, on 11-13th October 2022.

The Meteorological Technology World Expo 2022 is the largest and longest-running global exhibition of meteorological products and services and took place in Paris, France, from 11th to 13th October 2022, after a 2-year pause imposed by COVID-19 restrictions.

meteoblue was delighted to present our growing team, new products, and our "one-stop shop for precision weather" booth, which shows our unique offer of weather data and services in six dimensions:

  • Global coverage, as our weather data is available for every point on Earth, including the air above us - symbolised by small stress balls in the shape of the Earth - huge demand, we ran out...
  • Unique time range, with hourly data reaching back to 1979 without any gaps, forecast data in hourly time steps for the next 14 days, seasonal forecast data, and climate predictions. No other source can supply such a seamless data offer directly available online. We shared some T-shirts showing all available years with our customers (only a few were older than our available time range).
  • The unique data range is our extensive portfolio of more than 100 weather and environmental variables. We filled our bookshelf with one folder per variable and can already forecast that the shelf space will have to be increased again next year.
  • The top precision accuracy of our weather data is the highest publicly documented in the industry. So we challenged our visitors to achieve this level of accuracy, throwing the balls at broader and more narrow openings - quite a challenge to hit the target as precisely as meteoblue does.  A fun challenge, though, which a few of our visitors managed in one shot - they got their T-shirts!
  • Multiple sources are available through all our services:  weather models, reanalysis, satellite and radar data, weather station networks, lightning images and air quality. The range is more comprehensive than the crates of beverages we offered.
  • Easy access is an obvious feature of meteoblue products: You can access them via our apps, website, emails, widgets, weather mapsAPI, FTP and other means customised for private and business solutions. In addition, our screen displays were in frequent demand to show our visitors what is available and how to best access this unique range of weather and climate data.

We met great people, had great conversations, learned about the most significant new weather industry developments and felt the outstanding commitment to improve weather services further and to tackle the even more significant challenges facing our planet in the coming years - and finally, were very happy to meet new and old friends again after a long time of online conversations.

We also enjoyed our Paris stay and found some time to visit the city’s landmark - the Eiffel Tower. We hope you are all safely home, as we are now, and will start working on the many tasks given to us to present them at the next Expo in Geneva, Switzerland, in October 2023.
