  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS: The previously issued High Surf Advisory has been replaced with this Coastal Flood Advisory. A rapidly deepening, broad low pressure system centered west of the Pribilof Islands is on track to send a strong corridor of 25 to 35 mph south to southwest winds towards the Kuskokwim Delta Coast by early this afternoon. Winds quickly increase this evening and overnight to 35 to 45 mph with gusts to 60 mph expected. Coinciding with 2 high tide cycles, water levels along the Kuskokwim Delta Coast will be up to 4 feet above the normal high tide line. As the low makes progress northward Tuesday morning, winds will maintain their magnitude but shift to out of the west, which will raise water levels for Toksook Bay and Tununak up to 4 feet above the normal high tide line as well. Conditions will begin to improve Wednesday morning as the low exits the region. Additionally, periods of moderate to heavy rainfall will compound coastal impacts for the advisory duration.
