ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- At 557 PM CDT Monday, rain and snowmelt is occurring, and will cause minor flooding. Rapid river rises will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include, Grand Marais, Gunflint Lake, Two Harbors, Silver Bay, Grand Portage, Clear Lake, Lutsen, Tofte, Beaver Bay, Wolf Lake, Dumbbell Lake, George Manitou State Park, Forest Center, Sugar Loaf Cove, Temperance River State Park, Taconite Harbor, Isabella, Little Marais, Finland and Little Saganaga Lake.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Campers and hikers should avoid flooded trail crossings. If camping at a site along or near the banks of rivers or streams, move away from those locations and seek higher ground. Trails in hilly terrain can quickly become unstable during or shortly after heavy rainfall.

- An additional three quarters to one and one half inch of rain is expected to fall this afternoon into tonight. Eastern Cook County also has several inches of lingering snowpack. While rainfall rates are not expected to be heavy, prolonged moderate rainfall on top of saturated soils will lead to runoff. Area rivers and streams are already running at elevated levels and could rise to minor flooding levels with runoff due to the additional rainfall.
