WHERE: The following area, the lower Kuskokwim River near Eek, Tuntutuliak and other riverside communities.

IMPACTS: The Kuskokwim River is continuing to flood from Kwethluk downstream to the coastal communities. Flooding of low lying and flood prone areas along the Kuskokwim River continues to be possible. Residents should be prepared for high water.

River Watch reconnaissance shows the Kuskokwim River breakup front was just downstream of Napakiak. Firm ice is still in place downstream of Napakiak, though it is showing signs of weakening today. Impounded water from the ice jam extends upstream as far as Kwethluk. Flooding is now a combination of residual water from the ice jam and snowmelt. This could result in continued high water for several days.
