history+ subscription offers hourly weather data and images for any place in the world, accessible within seconds. The temperature simulations have already been downscaled to the location using altitude information from Digital Elevation models, so accuracy is in the range of the best local models for all available years .
For
precipitation, the most widely available and reliable downscaling methods are high resolution model. More reliable methods are available, but limited to a few years (Observations) or very few locations (measurements).
We have now added "high resolution" Precipitation and Snowfall amount (limited time range)" to the history+
data selection, so you can choose between the highest resolution (higher accuracy, limited time range) and low resolution (lower accuracy, full time range). If large differences occur, then the variability in local precipitation amounts is likely high, and additional observation or measurement data are required for making important decisions. More additions are planned in 2019.
