A glacier outburst is currently occurring on the Taku River. As a result, debris in the water is possible on the Taku River and extending down Taku Inlet, particularly for Wednesday. Furthermore, water temperature near the Taku River may be much colder than normal, possibly by more than 10 degrees.
The Taku River crested early this morning is continuing to fall. As a result of the release, debris in the water remains possible on the Taku River, extending down Taku Inlet, & into Stephens Passage, & the water temperature in that area may also still be colder than normal today.
