  • Flash Flood Warning for, Guam, Rota,

  • Until 815 AM ChST Monday.

  • At 210 AM ChST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD,Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE,Radar indicated.

IMPACT,Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

  • Some locations that will experience flash flooding include, Dededo, Tamuning, Yigo, Mangilao, Chalan Pago-Ordot, Barrigada, Yona, Hagatna Heights, Andersen AFB, Talofofo, Mongmong-Toto-Maite, Sinajana, Inarajan, Asan, Merizo, Piti, Santa Rita, Umatac, Sinapalo and Songsong.

  • STORM INFORMATION: At 1 AM ChST,the center of Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) was located near latitude 13.7N,longitude 146.5E. This was about 115 miles east of Guam. Storm motion was west, 270 degrees, at 10 mph. Storm intensity was 180 mph.

  • SITUATION OVERVIEW: Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) has nearly maxed out the T number scale for intense a tropical cyclone can get. This devastating category 5 tropical cyclone could hit any of the Mariana Islands, at this time the most likely for a direct hit looks like it might be Rota.

In addition to catastrophic wind damage, Bavi could end up packing storm surge damage, runup damage, and beach erosion.
