Nízke oblaky a hmla sa však od teploty povrchu odlišujú ťažko, a preto môžu byť v noci takmer neviditeľné. Satelitné snímky Meteosat pre Európu sa aktualizujú v reálnom čase každých 5 minút. Snímky GOES-16/GOES-17 (Severná a Južná Amerika) a Himawari (Ázia) sa aktualizujú každých 10 minút.
Zrážky sa odhadujú z radaru a satelitov. Odhady zrážok zo satelitov sú v noci menej presné ako cez deň.
