A flood alert has been issued. Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are rising on the River Thame as a result of heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low lying land and roads is expected today, 29/04/2024, especially in the Thame and Stadhampton areas. Today and overnight are forecast to be mainly dry. River levels have stabilised in the Aylesbury area, but are expected to continue rising today in the downstream reaches. River levels remain sensitive to further rainfall over the coming days. We are monitoring the situation. Do not drive through flood water and avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses. - Avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water - 30 cm of fast-flowing water can move a car and 6 inches can knock an adult off their feet.
- Flood water is dangerous and may be polluted. Wash your hands thoroughly if you’ve been in contact with it.
