A flood alert has been issued. River levels have risen at the Darlaston river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall throughout this afternoon 16/05/24. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible overnight and into tomorrow morning, Friday 17/05/24. We expect flooding to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the River Trent between Darlaston and Great Haywood including Stone. Further rainfall is forecast over the next 6 hours. We expect river levels to remain high overnight tonight 16/05/24. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are actively checking river levels and the weather forecast. Plan driving routes to avoid low laying roads near rivers, which may be flooded. This message will be updated tomorrow morning, Friday 17/05/24 or as the situation changes.
