An active trough causing this extended duration of rainfall raises the potential for localized and widespread flooding, particularly in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Peak impacts are anticipated Friday through Saturday, when the trough is most active. Rainfall totals over the event period may exceed thresholds for flash flooding, especially in areas that have already experienced saturated soil conditions in previous weeks.
