Maximum temperatures in the low thirties to low forties, deceasing to high twenties to mid thirties over the North Tropical coasts and Tablelands district and also the Herbert and Lower Burdekin district. Overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to mid twenties. Severe heatwave conditions are expected to continue throughout Cape York Peninsula over the coming days and expand to other parts of northern Queensland over the weekend before beginning to ease next week. Locations likely to be impacted include Kowanyama, Townsville and Weipa.
