Maximum temperatures in the high thirties to mid forties with overnight minimum temperatures generally in the low to high twenties for the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Central West, North West and Gulf Country districts. Maximum temperatures in the low to high thirties with overnight minimum temperatures in the high teens to low twenties for the Herbet and Lower Burdekin, Central Coast and Whitsundays, Capricornia and the Wide Bay and Burnett districts. Severe to Extreme heatwave conditions are building over northern, central and eastern Queensland, and are expected to persist until a milder southerly change extends across the state early next week. A milder southerly change moving over the Channel Country and Maranoa and Warrego today will lead to an easing in the Severe Heatwave conditions through these districts. Locations likely to be impacted include Barcaldine, Cloncurry, Croydon, Doomadgee, Hughenden, Julia Creek, Monto, Rockhampton, Richmond and Springsure.
