The strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf while the monsoon trough lies across upper Myanmar and upper Laos. At the same time, severe tropical storm “WIPHA” was made landfall over Thai Binh, Vietnam. Isolated heavy rain and strong wind are likely in the country while isolated very heavy rain are possible in the North, the Northeast, the Central and the East regions. People in thease areas should beware of heavy to very heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods and overflows, especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands. The strong wind forces the waves in the upper Andaman Sea up to 2–4 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. The wind and wave in the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are likely 2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers.
All ships in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers. Small boat in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf should keep ashore.
