meteoblue has conducted extensive
comparisons of model simulations with measurements of temperature, precipitation, wind and radiation.
The accuracy obtained for
temperature forecasting (calculated as MAE = mean absolute error) are the highest ever published - in a study with global extension - for the forecast 1 to 180 hours ahead. Precipitation accuracy of current meteoblue forecast is even higher than historic reanalysis weather data sets (ERA5). Only local measurements achieve higher accuracy.
With these new studies, users can get precise information about how
accurate weather information is for any place on the planet. Thereby, they can now make uniquely science-based decisions on which weather data to use for their purposes.
