We are continuously working on our website, and updates may not always be visible at first glance.
This news summarises our latest website enhancements:
New display of desert dust in daily view
Desert dust is now highlighted in the daily view with a yellow background plus a picto of the weather conditions. This new display not only shows the presence of desert dust but also the actual weather conditions (e.g. clouds, and sun). To find a location with desert dust, we recommend using our weather maps.
Japanese radar is now included in the forecast algorithm
We have been showing the Japanese radar on our weather maps for quite a long time, but we have now included the raw data in our forecast data calculation. This means that precipitation data for Japan, calculated by our MultiModel combining multiple weather models, is now enhanced with continuous updates from Japanese radar.
New version of the HARMONIE model
The next version of the HARMONIE model (Hirlam Aladin Research towards Mesoscale Operational NWP in Europe) is integrated. It covers Central Europe with a spatial resolution of 5km and a forecast time horizon of 60 hours in hourly time steps with 8 daily updates. You can also access the model data through our weather maps by selecting the HARMONIE (lower right corner) or using our MultiModel.
Many small steps can also lead to big improvements, and we will continue to work on our website and keep you updated.
