Waterspout above Genoa this morning

Cold air in 1,5 km height above the Mediterranean Sea ensures that strong showers and thunderclouds can form.

Waterspouts usually form along the dark flat base of developing cumulus clouds. Most of them are weaker than tornados on land, but some waterspouts can be strong and tornadic in nature. The radar shows a shower cell above Genua.
In the next days more showers and possible thunderstorms are expected in the Mediterranean Sea. Check out the forecast for Genoa.
