Blackout in Basel

Today, meteoblue is affected by a power reduction in Basel, because the power production in the hydropower plants supplying our green electricity had to be stopped due to the dry past weeks.

We have therefore decided to switch our website to black, because the darkmode consumes less energy, and we thereby hope to save energy to continue operating our systems.

If the operation is successful, we will maintain the website offer in darkmode, to support the quest for energy saving.

No wonder why I had the site refreshed in the last few minutes to suddenly see that "dark mode" got added to the site. This is also a great opportunity to do some fine-polishing to make sure everything's compatible with the new theme! (The sun elevation graphic on the Weather Today page could use tweaking with text, for example.)

Best wishes on your blackout trial, meteoblue! =P

Does this have something to do with the 1st of April ?

I hope that this blackout is a temporary April 1st prank, as I'm having great difficulty using the site in this dark mode.

How can I disable it? It is horrible... most diagrams are half only complete. 14-Day looks like a joke

Sorry, don't like it as it stands. Graphics are hard to read.

we all need to save energy starting from our screens!? good on on you Meteoblue, this should be added as a future feature ... keep up the good work.

This is stupid. There are way more other things which can be done to reduce energy consumption.

Okay, stop this rather putrid April 1st joke and at least give us the option of how we view the site or I may reconsider my next payment.
