Creative Camp - meteoblue and Windy

Our meteoblue team celebrated its first Creative Camp together with Windy colleagues in the Black Forest.

This year, we extended our traditional 2-day meteoblue day to a new 3-day format of "Creative Camp", where we combined retreat, nature, creativity, joint adventure and celebration. To foster collaboration with Windy, our new colleagues from Windy joined our event — thanks for travelling more than 10 hours and for joining us!

We spent three days in the Black Forest, starting with a hike to the destination in a small rural village with a beautiful view of the Black Forest, fields, wind turbines, Basel, and the Alps.

  • It was a challenge: Organizing several dozens of colleagues into travel groups, bedrooms, and working groups and developing a joint schedule was a great puzzle that required many adjustments and insights.
  • It was a creative process: Limited internet access was the first challenge, which helped us focus on offline workshops, resulting in surprising and enlightening visions of further revolutionising our weather offers.
  • It was close to nature: We found time to breathe the great forest air, go on inspirational hikes, jog, and find mushrooms.
  • It was an adventure: The organizers juggling the puzzle, the hikers climbing the hills, the travellers sweating in the baking heat, the workshop participants "storming their brains", or the kitchen team catching up with the appetite.

In the end, flipcharts turned into gamepads, the musicians lit the night, and many ideas were generated.

After three intense days, we returned to our more city-centric lives in Basel and Prague with loads of inspiration, memories, fun, and new friends. We are very motivated to start working on our new ideas!

Surely an enriching idea, organising a camp with the talents of two companies together in a two company non cutthroat way. Nice to learn it was a success and inspiring for everybody involved!!!

@tim.furdui. meteoblue employs more than twice as many women as EU industry average, and to our knowledge we have the highest female percentage of all private EU meteo companies with more than 50 employees.
