Official warning explanations:
  • WHAT: Periods of heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 16 inches with locally higher amounts up to 2 feet in the Upper Cottonwoods and Ogden area mountains.

  • WHERE: Wasatch Mountains I-80 North, Wasatch Mountains South of I-80 and Western Uinta Mountains.

  • WHEN: From 6 AM Sunday to noon MDT Tuesday.

  • IMPACTS: Winter driving conditions are expected, especially above 7500 feet. Those in the backcountry will experience winter-like conditions.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Heavy snowfall is expected to fall Sunday afternoon and evening as a cold front moves through the area. Snow levels will drop to 5000 feet by early Monday morning.
