Official warning explanations:
  • WHAT: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

  • WHERE: Portions of central, east central, and northeast Kansas, including the following counties, in central Kansas, Dickinson. In east central Kansas, Geary, Morris and Wabaunsee. In northeast Kansas, Pottawatomie and Riley.

  • WHEN: Until 600 PM CDT Monday.

  • IMPACTS: Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

    • At 1141 AM CDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen.
    • Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected.
    • Some locations that will experience flooding include, Junction City, Wamego, Alma, St. Marys, Grandview Plaza, St. George, White City, Alta Vista, Dwight, McFarland, Paxico, Belvue, Emmett, Louisville, Woodbine, Parkerville, Latimer and Volland.
    • This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 305 and 335.
