Navasota River Above Groesbeck affecting Limestone County.

  • WHAT: Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

  • WHERE: Navasota River above Groesbeck.

  • WHEN: Until late Tuesday evening.

  • IMPACTS: At 10.0 feet, Moderate overbank flow is expected, with flooding occurring along the left bank.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

    • At 7:55 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 7.6 feet.
    • Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
    • Flood stage is 7.0 feet.
    • Forecast: The river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.1 feet late tomorrow morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Tuesday morning.

  • IMPACTS: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with additional heavy rainfall.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

    • Additional rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches possible through late this afternoon.
