  • WHAT: Flooding caused by an ice jam continues to be possible.

  • WHERE: The following area, Kuskokwim Delta.

  • WHEN: Through Tuesday afternoon.

  • IMPACTS: As of Sunday morning, the ice jam front is in the Tuluksak/Akiak area. Both communities experienced high water and localized flooding as a result of small breakup jams.

Potential ice jams and associated high water may cause minor or moderate flooding in Kwethluk and Akiachak.

  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

    • Now is the time to take precautions. Where possible, move items to higher ground and prepare your community for possible flooding.

    • If you live near or along the Kuskokwim River stay alert and be prepared to take action.
