The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning below 8000 feet for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from noon to 10 PM MDT Sunday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

  • AFFECTED AREA: In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 203 Lower Colorado River below 8000 feet.

  • TIMING: For the first Red Flag Warning, until 9 PM MDT this evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 10 AM Saturday to midnight MDT Saturday night. For the third Red Flag Warning, from noon to 10 PM MDT Sunday.

  • WINDS: Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

  • RELATIVE HUMIDITY: 8 to 13 percent.

  • IMPACTS: Elevated fire danger is expected. Fires will catch and spread rapidly and erratically.
